Back Country Heroes

Backcountry Heroes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders through outdoor-based experiences that foster healing, connection, and purpose.

By bringing individuals into the backcountry through activities like hunting, fishing, and wilderness expeditions, Backcountry Heroes creates an environment where participants can decompress, reconnect, and build lasting relationships with others who share similar experiences.

Their mission centers on combating isolation, improving mental health, and restoring a sense of identity through shared hardship, adventure, and community. Through these experiences, participants gain confidence, resilience, and a renewed sense of belonging.
